The best of all the Fairy Tales, this production, every popular with children and schools, includes Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks, Billy Goats Gruff, and Three Little Pigs. Rainbow takes particular delight in creating these exciting and inspiring pieces of theatre for our younger audiences, who have the opportunity of enjoying these traditional stories, and participating in the action. We aim to stimulate the children’s interest in reading, discussion, and drama, not only in acting with the professional players, but in using the techniques seen in their own drama and written work.

Little Red Riding Hood:

Don’t stray off the beaten track! Don’t talk to strangers! Not all wolves have large furry ears! Try writing a story as brilliant as these four classics. It’s impossible. So strong, so exciting. They are the basis of our culture.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears:

One of our young audience plays Baby Bear. He and his ‘family’, finding breakfast porridge too hot, go for a walk in the forest, when along comes a precocious little girl, who has run away from her family. Goldilocks has a hard lesson to learn.

Three Billy Goats Gruff:

How to face up to our fears? The grass on the other side of the bridge is greener, but they have to get past the scary Troll. Our young audiences can empathise with Little Billy Goat as he is the first to cross the Bridge – and confront the Troll.

Three Little Pigs:

Three of our audience play the three little pigs sent off into the world with just a sixpence in their pockets. What will they build their houses out of? What happens when the Big Bad Wolf comes along?! Laughter, excitement and escaping runs all through this final production
